AQUABELLE
Exactly the R&R that we needed, Aquabelle Apartments situated along the main street in Rye is a modern sanctuary only 75-minutes drive from Melbourne. Michelle and I jumped at the chance to take up the roles of #AquaBloggers, spending two nights in our own luxurious 2-bedroom apartment and enjoying what the Morning Peninsula has to offer. Tough gig, we know.
Upon our arrival, a considerable amount of time was spent squealing and fawning over the amazing decor and of course, the large eggshell bath smack bang in the centre of the main ensuite. As bloggers, we naturally began compiling a mental checklist of all the #picoftheday photos we could take of our new pad. From the plush leather couches to the floor-to-ceiling windows allowing you to ponder life while looking out over the scenic ocean views of Port Phillip Bay, we were overwhelmed by the beauty and also the convenience of Aquabelle. We especially loved all the special touches that made our stay even more enjoyable such as the keyless entry allowing for a flexible check-in, complimentary beauty products, the stack of magazines & books to keep you entertained not to mention Foxtel and Wi-Fi. And when it was time to switch off, there was nothing better than slipping into our fresh, crisp bedsheets and having the best snooze of our lives.
When you are ready to venture out from your cozy apartment, there are plenty of yummy food options nearby, most notably Freaky Tiki for delicious fresh salads and the most wondrous creation... the breakkie burger mmmm! Head to Shark Shack for old school fish & chips, and if you think the small size chips won't be enough...trust us, it is. And if you really can't bear to leave once checked in, each apartment at Aquabelle has a fully equipped kitchen to get all Masterchef and shiz.
To really emphasise the fact that it was a girlie weekend away, we headed down to Sorrento for some, yes you guessed it...
Be sure to check out Country Road along the main street. We all know and love their modern yet warm and welcoming store fit-outs but this one is particularly special with lots of natural light, timber, a veggie patch in the rear courtyard and even a cafe (using all Country Road tablewear of course!). We also stopped by a lovely little deli across the road to stock up on essentials - cheese, crackers & meat.
Following this, we headed to the Peninsula Hot Springs, just a 10-minute drive from Aquabelle, for a good ol' fashioned soak. Getting from A to B was also made more enjoyable in the new super schmick Mazda CX-3, our (very on-trend midnight blue) ride for the weekend. With a sleek black interior, leather seats, satellite navigation, entertainment system and bluetooth hands-free all controlled via the centre touchscreen PLUS a roomy boot for our shopping loot and my luggage sufficient enough for a 3-week-long overseas trip, it was hard to part with our sweet ride at the end of the weekend. We also struggled to tear ourselves away from our home-away-from-home, Aquabelle Apartments, but there's no doubt we'll be back soon!
