ARCHIVE

We were thrilled to be invited to the opening party of Melbourne's latest art-meets-fashion boutique.  Located in the art deco Mitchell House building on Lonsdale Street, Archive is a consignment store that boasts a lovingly curated selection of recycled designer clothing, including Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake.
The area was converted from an office space to a gallery/store by SIBLING, and on opening night we were all treated to an exhibition by John Ibrahim titled "Back to Japan", to showcase some amazing pieces by the aforementioned cult designers.  We were assured that there are usually more clothes on display than this.
Customers can buy and sell clothing without all the hullabaloo and stale aroma of your average thrift store - art and sustainable fashion lovers unite.  Naturally, we planned our outfits accordingly.
On Michelle: Country Road knit, vintage coat and leather shorts, Sportsgirl heels, Emily Green necklace.
Big thanks to Lauren and Maya for having us!
Archive Melbourne is located at Room 5, Level 5 - 358 Lonsdale Street and open Tuesday - Friday from 10am to 6pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm.
